Uninstall Profile Error on MacOS
complete

The ‘MCX Settings’ payload could not be installed. One or more keys in the payload must be installed in a device profile, not a user profile.
I recently set up a separate admin account and removed root privileges from my main user account for context. When I downloaded the uninstall profile to modify some settings, I hadn't received the error before when I was admin, but now I'm getting this. I'm guessing this has something to do with making changes to the system and just the user. What can I do?

Sorry for the delay providing an update on this. It was fixed several weeks ago. You can now restrict guest mode and set dns settings on MacOS 26 without encountering this installation error
Ben
You can just click "sync chances" after toggling off guest mode, then reinstall the config (upgrade the existing config)
Ben
Try editing the config and de-select the guest mode restrictions. I believe that is the key related to that payload. There seems to be an update on Mac that causes this key to prevent a system-wide install of the config.

Ben Gotcha, thank you. But if I want to uninstall the existing profile to apply the de-selected one, how would that work? Would I need to apply admin privileges and then remove before installing the new profile?
