New Profile Unlock Method: Schedule a Date When Unlocking Occurs
Toucan
Having an option for scheduling a specific future date for when a profile should be unlocked to make changes, as an alternative to the current unlocking delay method (which only allows for a maximum delay of 24hrs), I think would greater facilitate discipline and non-tampering of the content policy for a user who is self managing - as they would be forced to wait until a specific date (potentially far into the future) to have their profile unlocked.
{ Alternatively, the current maximum unlock delay could just be increased from 24hrs, to say, 3 weeks - without specific dates having to be a thing. }
I think this 'scheduled date' unlocking method could also be bolstered if it gave the user an option to enable a secondary unlocking method on top of it, such as a passcode or (preferably) another unlocking delay. How this might look is; first the profile is scheduled to unlock on a preselected date (such as the 1st of November) but once this date comes around, the user has to wait for a preset time duration (e.g. 12 hours) before their profile is truly unlocked. This would act as an additional layer of friction, in case the user has been mentally preparing to access what they should not be (by modifying the content policy) as the scheduled date approaches - giving them more time to reconsider their intentions.
